Abstract
The cross section of the237 Np(n,f) reaction has been experimentally determined at the n_TOF facility at CERN, in the neutron energy range 100 keV – 10 MeV, relative to the standard235U(n,f) and238U(n,f) reaction cross sections with use of a Fast Ionisation Chamber. The reproduction of the high accuracy data obtained from this experiment was attempted within the Hauser-Feshbach formalism and phenomenological models with use of the code EMPIRE 3.2.
