Abstract

Neutron scattering experiments have been performed to study the dynamic spin properties of single-crystal La1.86Sr0.14Cu0.988Zn0.01204 (rc=16K). The width of S (Q, ω) in momentum space decreases at low co and at low temperatures. The intensity at low energies at the incommensurate peak position shows a broad maximum as a function of temperature around the superconducting transition temperature Tc. This behavior is qualitatively similar to that observed by Thurston et al. in La1.85Sr0.15CuO4 (Tc=33 K).
