Abstract

The development of a laser based scanning by ORNL is discussed. The system scans pre-programmed points corresponding to the positions of retro-reflecting targets affixed to items to be monitored. It consists of a laser scanner, retro-reflective tags, and a computer control program. The laser scanner rapidly scans pre-programmed points corresponding to the positions of cooperative targets affixed to items being monitored.
