Abstract

The vertical propagation of ultrashort, high-power laser pulses over more than 20 km in the atmosphere was investigated. Spectral as well as geometrical data was acquired using a large scale imaging telescope. These measurements constitute a data set for nonlinear propagation with decreasing pressure and temperature. The white-light generation at high altitudes was also investigated as a function of laser parameters.
