Abstract
The mean field of the 657 keV O+, T=1 level in 22Na for the radiative decay to the 583 keV 1+, T=0 level has been measured as tau =(27.1+or-1.2)ps. A modification of the recoil-distance method (RDM) was used. In addition, the mean life of the 891 keV level in the same nucleus was remeasured to give tau =(14.1+or-0.5)ps.
