T1 - Interpretation feature database design for typical objects based on remote sensing images after Wenchuan earthquake

N2 - Due to the different image understanding of earthquake damage, this study tries to build up the image interpretation feature database for typical objects based on remote sensing images after Wenchuan earthquake. Based on a large amount of different sources of remote sensing imageries retrieved right after the Wenchuan earthquake, we propose the study on design and construction of remotely sensed image interpretation feature database for typical objects on earth surface influenced by the earthquake. We divide these typical objects into three categories, which are lifeline engineering, buildings and secondary disasters. And then, field investigation in the disaster area was carried out in order to acquire the corresponding photos for the typical objects. At last, for the sake of image interpretation, the description models of the selected typical objects including feature information and expertise are designed. The database is designed based Oracle database and based on internet user interface, which can be used for data query, uploading, and editing by users. Our work illustrates the importance to share the image interpretation knowledge in the database with other researchers.
