Abstract
The results of a combination of neutron and x-ray diffraction measurements on normal and densified GeO2 glass from which information about the partial structure factor Sij(Q) for different element pairs (i,j) were obtained were reported. It was found that the greatest effects when the Ge-Ge correlations were eliminated and least when O-O correlations were eliminated. This result was surprising since previous discussions on intermediate range order (IRO) in network glasses have focused on cation-cation correlations.
