Abstract

As the bandwidth in a wireless network is shared among the clients, the available bandwidth often fluctuates. Adaptive multimedia contents are required because of this fluctuation in order to optimize the available wireless bandwidth. An architecture called NetMoVie, based on the RTF standard has been proposed for the management of adaptive streaming. A simulation model of NetMoVie is being developed using OPNET modeler to study its performance characteristics. In this article we discuss simulation model development specifics of a NetMoVie mixer, a core component of the NetMoVie architecture.
