N2 - Deterioration in the structural properties of steel fiber reinforced concrete (SFRC) corbels occur, over time, due to chloride-induced corrosion. In this study, design curves detailing the effects of variations in geometry and the parameters considered in the corrosion degradation process (i.e., initial chloride concentration) on the load carrying capacities of SFRC corbels are presented. The methodology adopted is based on an analytical model for predicting the service lives of SFRC corbels; the service life of SFRC corbels are calculated considering the initiation time of corrosion cracks. In order to illustrate the capabilities of the adopted approach, two distinct sets of SFRC corbel samples are examined separately. The results obtained demonstrate that, in the presence of chloride-induced corrosion, the observed increase in the load carrying capacities of SFRC corbels due to the variation of effective depth to overall depth ratio is more significant than the reductions observed in the service lives of these corbels.
