Abstract

Squeezed light can be produced by nonlinear optical processes. When the pump field contains more than one spatial mode or more than one frequency, multimode squeezing results. The vast majority of the literature on squeezing does not treat this case. This paper outlines a study demonstrating that the quantum statistics of multimode squeezed fields are easily obtained and simply understood via an eigenmode description.
