Abstract
The δ and γ-phases of titanium hydride were studied by inelastic neutron scattering (INS). Biphonon and triphonon excitations were clearly observed in the γ-phase as distinct peaks split from two-phonon and three-phonon bands to lower energies. Bound multiphonon states seem to occur also in the δ-phase, they appeared in the INS spectra as hump-shaped features at the low-energy side of the free multiphonon bands.
