Funding

A project award was received by Kairos Power through the Consolidated Innovative Nuclear Research (CINR) program for the fiscal year 2019 funding opportunity announcement (FOA). This project is in the NSUF 2.2 category for nuclear fuel behavior and advanced nuclear fuel development. The irradiation test will be performed at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) in the High Flux Isotope Reactor (HFIR) with PIE being performed in the Irradiated Fuels Examination Laboratory (IFEL). This paper describes the planned testing methodology and PIE as part of this irradiation plan.
