Abstract
A study on gallium-mediated growth of multiwall carbon nanotubes is presented. Liquid gallium is used as an effective solvent and template for high-yield growth of multiwall carbon nanotubes. The nanotubes obtained differ morphologically from nanotubes obtained by using transition metals as catalysts and can be used as a nanothermometer in the temperature range of 30 to 550°C.
