Abstract
The formulation and the development of a computer program for determining the natural frequencies of laminated composite plates with central circular hole are presented using a hybrid-stress finite element. The accuracy of the methodology is checked. The four lowest natural frequencies of a laminate are evaluated by varying a number of parameters, i.e. (i) fibre orientation, (ii) width to thickness ratio, (iii) aspect ratio and (iv) hole size.
