Abstract

[Formula Presented]-decay studies of the neutron-deficient [Formula Presented] isotopes have been performed at the Leuven isotope separator on-line facility (LISOL) at Louvain-la-Neuve. The nuclei of interest are produced using an element-selective laser ion source coupled to the on-line mass separator. The half-life of [Formula Presented] ms) was remeasured precisely and the [Formula Presented] decay of [Formula Presented] was observed for the first time. The [Formula Presented]-decay Gamow-Teller strength [B(GT)] associated with the [Formula Presented] level at 937.2 keV in the daughter nucleus [Formula Presented] was deduced. The [Formula Presented] GT strength of [Formula Presented] obtained from the measured half life of [Formula Presented] ms) and branching ratio [Formula Presented] towards this level is in agreement with the GT strength obtained from [Formula Presented] reaction studies on [Formula Presented]
