Abstract

The temperature-dependent behavior of an oligopeptide GVG(VPGVG) was discussed. Spectroscopic measurements, thermodynamic measurements, and molecular dynamics simulations reveal that this octapeptide behaves as a two-state system. The system was found to undergo an 'inverse temperature' folding transition and reentrant unfolding. A molecular picture of these processes was also presented.
