Abstract
A review of the authors' recent works concerning investigations into the relaxation and vibrational spectra of glasses and supercooled liquids is presented. Particular attention is given to a phenomenon of glass transition. It is shown that low-frequency spectral anomalies ("boson peak") and structural nanoscale inhomogeneities have an important role in the processes considered.
