Abstract

The integration of embedded sensors with remote sensor interrogation techniques is an effective tool for conducting failure analysis of various civil structures such as dams and buildings. This approach will enable a single individual to remotely inspect the stability of structures and make a subsequent decision regarding the necessity of a in-person inspection. It can be very useful for evaluating hazards such as flood and earthquake hazards.
