Abstract

The YFe2-xVx system form solid solutions in the composition range x ≤ 0.8. The saturation magnetizations decrease from 2.90 μB/f.u. (x = 0) up to 1.15 μB/f.u. for x = 0.8. The experimentally determined magnetizations are in rather good agreement with the band structure results. Negative induced polarizations on V and Y sites were found.
