Abstract

The development of YBa 2Cu 3O 7-δ (YBCO)-based coated conductors was discussed. The fabrication of electrically connected high critical current density J c YBCO coatings on Cu tapes was demonstrated. The electrical, magnetic and superconducting properties of these conductors were reported. The results show that property characterizations of YBCO films on short prototype samples revealed self-field critical current density (J c) values exceeding 2×10 6 A/cm 2 at 77 K and good electrical connectivity.
