Abstract

The EFTEM imaging technique was used to acquire high-resolution images of γ′ precipitates in nickel-based superalloys down to a size scale of ∼3 nm. From EFTEM images, accurate characterization of γ′ size, volume fraction, and distribution were conducted with quantitative image analysis techniques.
