Abstract
This paper outlines the use of PTP (peak-to-peak) diagrams for the evaluation of the results of multiple runs of a time-domain simulation of a ding process. These diagrams summarize the amplitudes of the forces, deflections. or surface finishes resulting from a large number of simulations through a range of axial depths of cut and spindle speed. The diagrams have similarities to and contain the global information of the familiar stability lobe diagrams, while including the detail available from simulation.
