Abstract
The segregation-diffusion phenomenon in α-Al2O3 scales is studied at various times and temperatures. The segregation is quantified by using the Cliff-Lorimer method to determine the apparent weight percentages of Zr and Al on the boundary. All of these studies employed FEG-STEM equipped with XEDS in order to detect the interfacial segregation. Based on a recent study, the effect of sample thickness is ignored.
