Abstract

The metallographic microstructure of aluminium alloy 6063 were characterised by OM and SEM. The corrosion resistance was tested by the CASS method. The ion concentrations in the oxidizing and sealing liquids were analysed and the effects of these ion concentrations on the quality of the anodic oxidation film were cliscussed. The resnlts show that the quality of the anodic oxidation film was affected by the second phase content in the aluminium matrix and ion concentrations in the oxidizing and sealing liquids. Incompletets sealing led to the occurrence of the spot-like defects on the alloy surface.
