Abstract

In this paper, a new design technique of microstrip patch antenna with E-slot and a-slot at the edge of the radiator for Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) application is presented. The proposed microstrip patch antenna adopts the partial ground planes and Rogers Duroid 5880 substrate is used which is having low dielectric constant, thereby provides good bandwidth. Microstrip feedline technique is used to feed the antenna with 50Ωimpedance. The proposed antenna has a compact size of 34 × 27 × 0.787 mm2 and with return loss of -18.6 dB at the lower and middle frequency range of WiMAX application. Using Ansoft HFSS the simulated results are nresented and evaluated with and without slit.
