Abstract

It is shown that fragility of supercooled metallic liquids correlates with the Poisson's ratio of the respective metallic glasses. However, the correlation differs from that found previously for simple nonmetallic glass formers. The observed difference is assigned to the contribution of the free electron gas to the bulk modulus in metallic glasses.
