Abstract
Numerical software libraries have long been used in engineering and scientific computations on workstations and mainframes, but are just now becoming widely available on HPCC platforms. We describe recent developments in the SCALAPACK numerical linear algebra library, which have recently become available for currently existing massively parallel machines and networks of workstations. We outline SCALAPACK's functionality and current performance. We also describe our efforts to ease technology transfers by providing 24-hour electronic access and on-line books of `templates' to help users find the best program to use.
