Abstract

Albemarle's new line of FCC catalysts, GOULTRA™, for gas oil units offers superior gasoline and coke selectivities, and excellent bottoms conversion compared to conventional gas oil catalysts. These improvements offer refiners new options to adjust their product slate in response to changes in transportation fuel markets. A discussion covers a description of GO-ULTRA; development of a lumped kinetic model, capable of accurately quantifying the impressive selectivity improvements over a wide range of conversions; and the current state of commercialization of GO-ULTRA. This is an abstract of a paper presented at the NPRA Annual Meeting Phoenix, AZ 3/21-23/2010).
