Abstract
We describe a laser device which generates wavelength-hopping sequences useful for optical communication. The wavelength-hopping sequences are generated using nonlinear dynamical behavior of a wave-length tunable laser with opto-electric feedback. Methods for data transmission using periodic and chaotic hopping sequences are described.
