Abstract
We report magnetic susceptibility, electrical resistivity, and low-temperature heat capacity data for La-doped (formula presented) (formula presented) antiferromagnetic heavy-fermion compounds. Antiferromagnetism is smoothly suppressed by La doping and (formula presented) extrapolates to zero at (formula presented) for the (formula presented) tetragonal variants and at (formula presented) for cubic (formula presented) Our results are discussed in terms of the quasi-two-dimensional character of (formula presented) and (formula presented) as compared to their cubic relative (formula presented) For (formula presented) short-range magnetic order and non-Fermi-liquid behavior are observed for higher La concentration.
