Abstract

We developed a novel technique to realize power enhancement of high energy burstmode ultraviolet pulses generated from Nd:YAG amplifier by combination of Pound-Drever-Hall technique and fiber acousto-optic frequency shifter in a doubly-resonant optical cavity.

A novel technique to realize power enhancement of burst-mode UV pulses in a doubly-resonant optical cavity has been demonstrated. This technique will be applied to achieve the necessary average/peak laser power required for the laser-assisted hydrogen ion stripping to produce high-power proton beams at the Spallation Neutron Source. This work has been supported in part by U.S. DOE grant DE-FG02-13ER41967. Oak Ridge National Laboratory is managed by UT-Battelle, LLC, under contract DE-AC05-00OR22725 for the U.S. DOE.
