Abstract

The Pd40Ni40P20 amorphous alloy was tested as a gasket material. Synchrotron x-ray diffraction was used for the investigation of the behavior of the Pd40Ni40P20 amorphous alloy under a hydrostatic, nonhydrostatic pressure of over 100 GPa. It was shown that the bulk metallic glasses are good high-pressure gasket material for in situ x-ray diffraction experiments.
