Abstract

Functlonallzed benzotrlfurans can be accessed in one efficient acylation step from previously unreported benzotrlfuranone. DFT calculations have confirmed the aromaticlty of the heteroaromatic system and determined its electronic structure that Is relevant to applications in materials and supramolecular chemistry.
