Abstract

In the version of this article initially published, the following section was not present in the Methods section and has now been inserted in the HTML and PDF versions of the article: “Safety considerations. Although all the reactions were carried out at ambient temperature, mixtures of CH4 and O2 can be explosive. Therefore, all glassware and apparatus should be pressure proof with full appropriate containment and protective screening.”
