Abstract

Some of the significant features of wireless technologies for asset tracking in an industrial environment, are presented. Wireless system can help to control and monitor of human and material resources to ensure right and efficient workflow during production process. The industrial real-time location system can improve the level of performance and profit margins to compete in a global environment. The real-time location systems (RTLS) system and wireless technologies can be used for optimal resource tracking. The organizations is looking forward to adopt RFID, GPS-based, chirped frequency-based, received signal strength indicator (RSSI)-based, RuBee (IEEE 1902), and ultra-wide band (UWB)-based technologies to improve asset tracking and profitability.
