Abstract

In this paper, we report progresses in upgrading the 1 MeV RFQ accelerator at Peking Uiniversity. Using the low energy beam transport (LEBT) system with two einzel lenses, over 6 mA peak beam current of 22 keV O+ ions can be obtained at the end of LEBT at duty faction of 16. The normalized RMS emittance of 90% of the beam is about 0.1271 mm-mrad. Test results of another electrostatic LEBT for high-current H+ ion beams are reported, too.
