Abstract

A revision of ANSI/ANS-8.1 is currently underway to address some long needed clarifications and corrections in the standard text. This revision will be generated first. Working in parallel, a computation and review team, with help from a validation team, will work to generate new subcritical limits for uranium and uranium compounds up to 10 wt. % 235U and will represent a second revision to the standard. Furthermore, the calculation effort may also consider previous working group efforts [2] to generate subcritical limits for other Pu and U compounds of interest to the criticality safety community.
