Abstract

A solar converter with integrated battery back-up is presented in this paper for medium power application. The proposed system uses a single stage power conversion topology to extract power from solar panels. The integrated battery energy storage system ensures continuity of power flow during partial shading and night times. Proposed solution reduces the cost and complexity of solar power converters with a single stage power conversion unit. Battery energy storage system smoothens the power obtainable from photovoltaic generation and adds to system reliability.
