Abstract

The vortex board is integrated with several vortex tubes, which can surmount small cooling power of single vortex tube. The influence of inlet parameter and configuration and cold air fraction on the vortex board performance was investigated by experiment with air as a medium. The main influence of inlet temperature, pressure and cold air fraction on the vortex board performance was obtained. The result indicates that the performance can be improved by increasing the inlet temperature. The cold temperature difference and hot temperature difference increased by increasing the inlet pressure, but adiabatic efficiency decreased. The hot temperature difference and adiabatic efficiency increased by increasing cold air fraction, but cold temperature difference decreased. So the vortex board has the same separation effect just as a signal vortex tube. It has laid the foundation of further studying for the vortex board.
