N2 - Artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) have been applied to power electronics and electric drives research for more than 20 years for design, control, estimation, and prediction. With the recent interest in AI/ML for all aspects of smart and connected daily life, the interest in AI/ML applications of power electronics has also increased. With the increase in the number of grid-connected power electronics systems and solar inverters, there is also more interest in cyber physical security of these systems. This opening session of FEPPCON XI looked into the past work and also presented future possibilities for PELS in these areas.
