Abstract
Many modern cars and trucks are now produced with fuel injection systems as standard equipment. Virtually all vehicles currently manufactured or sold in Australia, utilize pressurized closed loop fuel delivery systems which include an in-tank electric fuel pump. As advances in engine performance, interior noise reduction and fuel injection system design continue, additional demands are placed upon the fuel pump. These demands include increased fuel delivery volume and pressure, improved performance at temperature extremes, and quietness of operation. The rollervane pump is highly successful and has been widely used in the USA and Europe for several years. These pumps combine attributes of proven reliability, economies of size and cost, and performance advantages of positive displacement pump action. These factors have the combination to satisfy Australian domestic vehicles requirements, plus provide a product with world market potential, allowing vehicle manufacturers the opportunity of using the product on a broad range of applications. AC Rochester has produced rollervane pumps for the Asian and Pacific region in Australia since 1989.
