Abstract
Particle transport in ECRH plasmas has been investigated for both cases of edge or central heating at the second harmonic cyclotron frequency. Global particle confinement is improved for both cases, and a transition phenomenon occurs for the case of edge heating. The effects of the trapped electron loss on the particle confinement improvement are discussed.
