Abstract
A wide-band and flat-gain erbium doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) which covered C-band and L-band region was proposed. C and L-band signals were launched into the first stage of EDFA via an optical isolator. The amplified L-band signals were out-coupled via the circulator and then combined with the C-band signals in the C/L combiner. Signal gain was 25.0 ± 0.5 dB and noise figure was less than 6 dB for 1527-1560 nm and around 7.0 dB for 1571-1560 nm.
