Abstract
An insights into the two catalyst design elements which are responsible for the performance of GO-ULTRA ™, a line of premium gas oil FCC catalysts offering a unique combination of high activity and best in class coke, bottoms and gasoline selectivities has been demonstrated. GO-ULTRA™ is ADM-25, Albemarle's newest matrix component and ADM-25 controls the formation of aluminum in a unique coordination state, termed A1O4/5, which directly modifies surface acidity. The role of catalyst in converting feed into products can best be visualized with the aid of a lumped kinetic model. The ADM-25, new processing technology creates improved pore size distributions that reduce diffusion resistance and minimize undesirable secondary reactions. These benefits endow GO-ULTRA ™ with improved coke selective bottoms upgrading and maximum gasoline selectivity at reduced coke levels.
