Abstract

A single frequency, mode hoping free, narrow linewidth laser system has been developed to generate high repetition rate picosecond UV pulses with MW peak power. Preliminary measurements have shown the generation of 402.5MHz/80ps pulses at high extinction ratio and single frequency operation. The laser parameters are promising in the application of laser assisted H- beam stripping at the Spallation Neutron Source.
