The editor services are provided by the language server, a program which communicates with the user’s text editor to provide several features to an MCNP user, via the Language Server Protocol (LSP). MCNP editor services are demonstrated for the High Flux Isotope Reactor (HFIR) model with the NEAMS Workbench [7], although the modular nature of the LSP ensures that the editor services would work with any LSP-supporting text editor. The LSP is supported by the NEAMS Workbench via the Workbench Analysis Sequence Processor (WASP) open source software [8]. Previous work has shown that our editor services were compatible with Visual Studio Code and it should work with any other client. This research was performed under appointment of the third author to the Rickover Fellowship Program in Nuclear Engineering sponsored by Naval Reactors Division of the National Nuclear Security Administration.
