Abstract

A concise approach to the synthesis of functionalized opp-dibenzoporphyrins is described. In this method, introduction of alkenyl groups to the porphyrin periphery through the vicinal 2-fold Heck reaction, 6-φ electrocyclization, and subsequent aromatizaron occur in one pot.
