    Description

    To support efforts of the U.S. Climate Change Technology Program (CCTP), led by the U.S. Department of Energy. ORNL will provideassistance in a broad range of areas including analysis of the CCTP R&D portfolio to identify major technology gaps andopportunities; modifications to the CCTP Strategic Plan based on the R&D portfolio analysis; development of technology roadmapsfor key gaps and opportunities; overviews of international climate change technology development activities; GHG-Intensity ReducingTechnology Deployment Report to promote the deployment and commercialization of GHG-reducing technologies and assistance withtechnology transfer activities.ORNL will prepare a work plan to respond to two requirements of the 2005 Energy Policy Act: areport on GHG-Intensity Reducing Technology Deployment and a National Climate Change Technology Policy Strategy. Prominent among theclimate change technologies to be addressed in the deployment report and policy strategy are technologies and practices forimproving the efficiency of energy use in buildings, industry, and transportation. Clean sources of power and transportation fuelswill also be addressed.
