SciDAC Center for Gyrokinetic Particle Simulations Development

    Project: Research

    Project Details

    Description

The Gyrokinetic Particle Simulation Center is a program that brings together leading experts in plasma simulation, theory, and computational sciences to address the grand-scientific challenge of achieving a betterunderstanding of turbulent transport in fusion plasmas for: (1) the parameter regimes relevant to magnetic fusion experiments such as the International Tokamak Experimental Reactor (ITER), and (2) the groundwork for an integrated fusion simulation project in the future. At Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), we will continue to develop real-time monitoring routines for the Gyrokinetic Toroidal Code and Advanced Visual Systems (AVS) visualization for the post-processing environment. We will also work on HDF5 output for the input/output (I/O).
