Revolutionary Materials for Solid State Energy Conversion

    Project: Research

    Project Details

    Description

Thermoelectric (TE) devices are systems that can directly convert electricity into thermal energy, or recover waste heat and convert it into electric power. The efficiency of thermoelectric devices is determined by the materials# dimensionless figure-of-merit (ZT). ORNL is participating in a research proposal entitled #Revolutionary Materials for Solid State Energy Conversion,# in response to DOE#s Energy Frontiers Research Centers (EFRC) Solicitation.
